Wrangell Mariners' Memorial

Plaques

Wrangell Mariners’ Memorial, Inc was formed in March 2017 to raise funds to construct a memorial in Wrangell to remember those lost at sea and those who had a close connection with the water in the Wrangell area.  It is our intention to facilitate the remembrance of many different groups of people, including but not limited to: Fishermen; Maritime Transportation workers; Recreational boaters and Stikine River users; Those lost aboard the sailing vessel Star of Bengal; and the Native population through time.  This will be accomplished through construction of a Memorial plaza and pavilion adjacent to Heritage Harbor that will include walls where plaques can be placed with names and stories can be told.
