Marion F. Goodrich was born in Wrangell. Marion, known as Uncle Bob to his nephews, grew up in Wrangell and worked as a deckhand on various fishing vessels until he went into the service in 1942.
When he got out of the service in 1945, he returned to Wrangell and continued his occupation as a deckhand until he was able to purchase the trolling boat, F/V Jerry. He halibut fished, salmon seined, and trolled.
He lived and fished out of Wrangell until his death in 1967.
Two of his running partners were Alf Erickson and Bob Sawyer, both Wrangellites and long time fisherman.
